Getting to Far Away Villa
Providenciales Airport
Flights into Turks and Caicos Islands land on the island of Providenciales (Provo) at the Providenciales International Airport (PLS). You should make all ground transportation arrangements before you arrive as it can book up quickly. The last ferry of the day usually departs from Provo at 4pm, so we recommend flights that land several hours earlier to allow time to clear customs, buy groceries, and get to the ferry to North Caicos.
Providenciales airport ground transportation
From the airport you can either rent a car, or take a taxi. For a taxi service, we depend on Unique Taxi & VIP Services. For car rental we usually book Grace Bay Car Rentals, who have a car lot at the airport. There are numerous other taxi services and car rental agencies in Provo.
Driving is on the left in Turks and Caicos and there are numerous roundabouts (traffic circles) on Providenciales.
Groceries in Providenciales
It is best to buy groceries at the Graceway IGA supermarket in Provo. Unique Taxi will take you to the grocery store, then deliver you to the TCI ferry afterward. There are also several convenience stores on North Caicos but the IGA has the best selection.
If you’re unable to visit the IGA store yourself, the shoppers at GOODS 2 DOOR are available to assist you with your shopping and can meet you at the TCI ferry landing at Heaving Down Rock Marina.
Ferry to North Caicos
The ferry landing is at the Heaving Down Rock Marina (Walkin Marina). Departure times can vary depending on your arrival day, so please check the schedule ahead of time. It is a walk-on ferry and takes about 25 minutes to arrive at North Caicos. Turks and Caicos Islands are in the Eastern time zone.
North Caicos transportation
First, you can hire a taxi. We are very fond of Mac at M&M taxi. Cell# 1.649.231.6285. We know we are home when we see Mac’s smiling face. Private tours of North and Middle Caicos can also be arranged with Mac.
Second, you can rent a car on North Caicos. Most rental agencies will deliver the car to the North Caicos ferry landing at Bellefield Landings. It is approximately 30 minutes to drive to Far Away Villa at Mudjin Harbour on Middle Caicos.

Once you arrive at the Dragon Cay Resort sign, turn in and follow the red line to Far Away Villa. This community was once known as Blue Horizon Resort, Middle Caicos. Far Away Villa is a member of the Blue Horizon Owner Association.
